It's Monday! What are You Reading?

Hosted by Sheila at book journey; join the fun!

Books I Finished:

Under a Maui Moon by Robin Jones Gunn.  Review here.

Little House in the Big Woods by Laura Ingalls Wilder.  Review here.

Books on Deck:

This Lullaby by Sarah Dessen
Jellicoe Road by Melina Marchetta
The Book Thief by Markus Zusak...I'm listening to it, and it's a bit slow.  Let me clarify: it is interesting, but there is no definite plot yet besides her learning to read.... Any encouragement to keep reading??

  1. I love Robin Jones Gunn. I first read The Christy Miller series in high school. The books are still on my shelf! I love all the Laura Ingalls books, they were my favorites growing up. I would get lost for hours in her world! I hope to read them with my kids someday!

  2. I loved The Book Thief...but I read it, not sure how it "translates" to audio.
No Monday post from me, but I'm reading "Lonesome Dove" and Traveling with Pomegranates -- on deck, The Sunflower by Richard Paul Evans for book club, and A Wrinkle in Time for Mother/Daugther book group.
    Have a great week.

  3. The Book Thief is so incredible - but I read it not audio and I am the first to admit that the narrator of an audio can make or break a book. If you get stuck on the audio please pick up the book version and give it your own voice :)

  4. The Book Thief is a wonderful story, but it is slow. Not sure what it would be like listening to it, but hang in there it is worth it.

  5. I'm with Shelia and Gerbera - loved The Book Thief but not sure how it would go as an audio.

  6. Well, I haven't read The Book Thief, but when I have a hard time making it through an audio book, I usually tackle some horrid household project. I clean out my closets or wipe down bathroom drawers, something boring that requires distraction.

  8. I've only read one other Dessen book, but I've heard she's amazing and I love the covers of her books. Hope you enjoy and have a great week :)
